Hey Reader! Have you ever moved a seedling and watched it wilt the next day? Here at Bethany Farm, Dave and I have been moving a few annuals like garlic and potatoes, mostly perennials and hardwood cuttings these past weeks. Every time we do, I’m reminded that transition, whether in gardens or in life, always needs tenderness. Here’s what helps our plants settle in fast: 🌱 Keep the roots intact. Handle them gently and move them with a scoop of the old soil still attached. Fall is the best season to transplant perennials and hardwood cuttings. The soil is still warm, but the air is cool, perfect for new roots to grow strong before winter. Want to see exactly how we do it?

May the Christ child remind you of the wonder and goodness of life! With love, Nicky & Dave and family
God created it all — the sun, moon, and stars, the seas, all they contain, the dry land too, and all of humanity — so that we might enter into the amazing and awe-inspiring life of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. — Fr. James Dominic Brent, The Father’s House Thanksgiving for the Home Harvest This season, as many of us gather in homes, may we take a moment to reflect on what makes home special. Just like our gardens, our homes are imperfect. Yet the things we love about them — a shared meal,...
